Well, what can one say? ( except we've probably all got a copy ). This landmark album was the definitive follow up to the change of direction the post Syd Barrett Pink Floyd had established with the release of the magnificently atmospheric Meddle two years previously.
Addressing the daily humdrum issues of modern life against psychological themes of sanity and mortality, the record placed the Floyd into just about every listening room in the country and remains the fourth best selling album in history.
It would be no exaggeration to use the word "timeless" both in terms of the music and indeed the album cover itself.
