Ok so this is more than a little biased, but here goes....
Personally, if anyone asked me what the perfect blues rock tune is, I wouldn't hesitate to nominate the title track from this gem of a record - "pick up a flat rock and skip it across green river "....which is actually Putah Creek California, where John Fogerty used to holiday as a child, (well I used to play this album as a child whilst getting to know how to operate my parent's 1980's Rega Planar 3, after finding it in Avid records - an Oxford vintage store).
Just pure blues infused swamp rock from start to finish this is arguably Creedence's finest hour, the first of three albums released in 1969 when they were at their peak, providing a raw contrast to the trend of elongated festival inspired 20 minute numbers ( nothing against the Dead here at all - each to their own ).
Each song here has a story, and as for longevity? well it went platinum in 1990, so there you have it...
There's a bad moon on the rise......or depending on your ears, a bathroom on the right.
