Miles Davis "Kind of Blue" is officially the biggest selling jazz record of all time and an essential LP for all music lovers. With the sextet including the legendary Coltrane on tenor sax, BBC rates this as one of the "greatest musical statements of the 20th century ".
It represents a move from traditional bebop to a smoother modal improvisation, resulting in a subtle atmospheric masterpiece.
I would wager many people a have memory or two associated with this record, so maybe come down to the Studio this spring evening and create a few more.
