40th Anniversary
Alpha Blondy and the Wailers
Jerusalem
Delightfully haunting — this is reggae and then some!
Recorded at Bob Marley's Tuff Gong Studio in Jamaica using the legendary Neve 80 Series analogue mixing console - think Dire Straits and Steely Dan - this is a fabulous recording.
Jerusalem remains a masterpiece of international reggae. The combination of Alpha Blondy's visionary prophetic voice and The Wailers' golden-era instrumentation creates a timeless, essential listen.
Blondy's light, delicately phrased vocals, combined with the rock-solid drum and bass from The Wailers, produce a hypnotic depth with a haunting, cross-cultural resonance.
