Anyone of a certain age will remember this tearing through teenage bedrooms between 87/90, the blistering epitome of the LA hard rock scene starts with a snarl, ends with a rocket and doesnt really let up in the middle either.
Musically it is a really serious piece of work, Slash "brought back the Les Paul " well, something that if not strictly true is certainly worthy of aplomb. Often overlooked, Izzy Stradlin's rhythm work is spot on and uses a Gibson Jazz model much of the time.
And of course those licks, which 15 year old did not try to replicate Sweet Child O' Mine on their first electric? and who didn't wear the t-shirt.....
Some albums are born into the moment, and like it or loathe it, this definately was...then they all fell apart, but that's rock and roll hey.
